SolAmerica Energy Stands With Black Lives Matter and the African American Community

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Atlanta, Georgia, June 17, 2020 – SolAmerica Energy announces its support for Black Lives Matter, for its neighbors, friends, and loved ones in the African American community, and for the families of Rayshard Brooks, George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and all those who have suffered in the face of racism. The world’s attention has been long focused on America, and Atlanta in particular, as we struggle to live up to the promise of the civil rights movement. Our city’s history and the examples set by her many civil rights legends compel us to act. We stand together with our fellow citizens and all who promote positive change in our community.

The entire SolAmerica Energy team stands with the mission and principles of Black Lives Matter and our local Atlanta leadership. They play a vital role in the global conversation on race relations and our future as a nation, said CEO Stan Allen. “We are encouraged to see so many Atlanta businesses join together in support of our African American community and other minorities. We urge the Georgia General Assembly to pass hate-crimes legislation and take a stand against hate crimes to protect all of our citizens.

Atlanta’s business community has a responsibility to demand better protections for our minority citizens from hate crimes. It is the right thing to do, and SolAmerica Energy and its employees wish to add their voices to the effort in the hope that the resulting dialogue can lead to a productive change for both Georgia and America.
